Wielu pyta po co wydawać takie płyty twierdząc, że to skok na kasę i materiał tylko dla zagorzałych fanów lub tych co nie mają co zrobić z pieniędzmi. Bo przecież po co słuchać albumu odegranego w całości na żywo skoro ma się materiał studyjny? Cóż, i mi czasem zdarza się nie wyspać, czy pleść głupoty, także trzeba policzyć do dziesięciu i wybaczyć tego typu komentarze. Kto widział Mayhem na żywo z tym materiałem (zaznaczam, że widziałem), zna jego wartość i autentycznie lubi te utwory, to wie, że wydanie "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" to udokumentowanie wyjątkowego koncertu i jeszcze bardziej wyjątkowej płyty w, poniekąd, nowej odsłonie. Możemy nie tylko poczuć magię tego wydarzenia, ale również usłyszeć to arcydzieło zagrane poza sterylnymi warunkami studia i w formie nieco bardziej intensywnej, jeszcze bardziej ociekającej mrokiem i tak naprawdę z nadanym drugim życiem po tylu latach od wydania studyjnego oryginału. Co trzeba przyznać, to fakt, że kompozycje z "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" w ogóle się nie starzeją, cały czas niosą ze sobą tę samą siłę i magię. Kolejny raz słuchacz ma okazję przekonać się dlaczego uważa się tę płytę za arcydzieło gatunku, dlaczego od tylu lat wciąż jest tak samo inspirująca i pochłania kolejne rzesze fanów ekstremalnego grania.
"De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" to dla mnie coś więcej niż koncert, to istne misterium na które składa się wiele czynników - od samej muzyki poczynając, poprzez doświadczenie wizualne, na atmosferze i pewnej aurze kończąc. Jeżeli było się na którymś z koncertów tej konkretnej trasy poświęconej wspomnianemu albumowi, to i sentyment czy nostalgia również się uruchomi. Zespół postarał się, aby każdy wieczór był wyjątkowy, aby ociekał klimatem, złowieszczą atmosferą, żeby przenosił nas te wiele lat wstecz. Co prawda nie ma tego na płycie audio, ale na krążku dvd mamy pełne show bez wyciętych elementów, które często wyrzuca się montując dźwiękową wersję koncertu. To tu min. usłyszymy słynne "When it's cold. And when it's dark, the freezing moon can obsess you!" wykrzykiwane niegdyś przez Dead'a przed każdym wykonaniem "Freezing Moon" na żywo. I teraz nie mogło tego zabraknąć. Zanim zespół rusza z utworem słyszymy te słowa puszczone z albumu "Live in Liepzig". Necrobutcher na basie, Teloch i Ghul na gitarach, Hellhammer za garami - każdy dał z siebie 100%, ale ta ostateczna, wyjątkowa magia, zwieńczenie całości to zasługa Attili, jego wokalu i scenicznej ekspresji. To już tyle lat w Mayhem, a on wciąż potrafi wokalnie oddać to co zrobił niegdyś w studiu podczas nagrywania "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". Jego praca to jeden z trzech elementów, który wciąż czyni ten album totalnie wyjątkowym.
Na koniec powiem już tylko jedno, uważam, że żaden fan Mayhem i Black Metalu nie powinien przejść obok tego wydawnictwa obojętnie. Jest cholernie wartościowe i ja osobiście słucham go naprzemiennie z oryginałem. Bezapelacyjnie mus!

Many people ask why to issue such records, claiming that it is a sales move and material only for die-hard fans or those who have simply too much money. Because why listen to an album played live in full since you have the original studio material? Well, sometimes it happens to be sleepy, or talk bullshit, so we have to count to ten and forgive such comments. Whoever saw Mayhem live with this material (I have seen it of course), knows its value and genuinely enjoys these songs, knows that the publication of "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" is a documentary of a unique concert and an even more unique album in, in a sense, a new quality. We can not only feel the magic of this event, but also hear this masterpiece played outside the sterile conditions of the studio and in a slightly more intense, form, with even much more darkness in it, and with a second life given after so many years from the publishing of the original. What must be admitted is the fact that the compositions from "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" do not age at all, all the time they bring with them the same strength and magic. Once again, the listener has the opportunity to see why this record is considered a masterpiece of the genre, why it has been so inspiring for so many years and still absorbs new fans of extreme music.
"De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" is more than just a concert for me, it is a mystery that consists of many factors - from music itself, through visual experience, finishing with atmosphere and certain aura. If you were on one of the concerts of this particular tour dedicated to the mentioned album, then even sentiment or nostalgia will also emerge. The band tried to make every evening special, to drip with climate, ominous atmosphere, to carry us many years back. It is not on the audio disc, but on the DVD one we have a full show without cut out elements, which are often thrown out by editing the audio version of the concert. Here we will hear the famous "When it's cold. And when it's dark, the freezing moon can be obsess you!" once shouted by Dead before performing "Freezing Moon" live. And now it could not be missing. Before the band starts the song, we hear those words recorded once on the "Live in Liepzig" album. Necrobutcher on bass, Teloch and Ghoul on guitars, Hellhammer behind drums - each gave 100%, but this ultimate, unique magic, the crowning of the whole is due to Attila, his vocal and stage expression. It's been so many years in Mayhem, and he still can vocally reproduce what he once did in the studio while recording "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". His work is one of three elements that still makes this album totally unique.
At the end I will say only one thing, I think that no fan of Mayhem and Black Metal should pass by this release indifferently. It is damn valuable and I personally listen to it alternately with the original. Decisively, a must!
