Hell-Born/Offence - Hellbound Hearts split (Putrid Cult 2019)

Trochę spóźniona ta recenzja, ale lepiej późno niż wcale, no nie? Po latach powraca na scenę trójmiejski Hell-Born, a towarzystwa dotrzymuje mu Offence, ugruntowując swoją pozycję. I co więcej, oba materiały, choć różne, wgniatają w glebę, że aż ciężko się potem odkopać! Na wersji winylowej (7'') mamy po dwa utwory od każdej z grup, natomiast na CD cztery od Hell-Born i pięć od Offence. W przypadku Pomorzan mamy w bonusie dwa starsze numery - "Darkness" (z ostatniej płyty) oraz "Devourer of Souls" (z "Legacy of the Nephilim"). Offence dołożył trzy numery w wersji live.
Cóż rzec można o utworach premierowych? Hell-Born jest w formie, znakomitej formie! Reaktywacja w starym składzie wraz z Diabolizerem za perkusją to odrodzenie niczym feniks z popiołów. Utwory są może jakby nieco bardziej techniczne, ale za to wciąż oldschoolowe i jeszcze bardziej mroczne. To wciąż kawał niesamowitego Death Metalu przesiąkniętego czystym diabelstwem. Co się tyczy Offence, od nich wiadomo, czego się spodziewać. Stary, dobry Death/Thrash wyrywający z kapci i wszelkiego innego obuwia. Szkoda, że ten zespół - pomimo sporego już stażu na scenie - wciąż nie jest jakoś szerzej rozpoznawany. Moim, jak i wielu zdaniem, zasługują na znacznie większą uwagę i uznanie.
Putrid Cult odwalił kawał solidnej roboty wydając ten split. "Hellbound Hearts" to znakomity wstęp do odrodzenia Hell-Born i przypomnienie, szersza promocja Offence. Niezwykle udany split, który warto mieć na półce i do którego chce się wracać. Polecam mocno!

This review should have been published like 2-3 months ago, but better late than never, right? After many years, the Tri-City Hell-Born returns with Offence at its side. And what's more, both materials, although different, dig into the soil so hard that it's not easy to dig up later! On the vinyl version (7 '') we have two songs from each group, while on CD four from Hell-Born and five from Offence. In the case of Pomeranians, we have a bonus of two older songs - "Darkness" (from the latest album) and "Devourer of Souls" (from "Legacy of the Nephilim"). Offence has added three live tracks.
What can I say about the premiere stuff? Hell-Born is in form, in a great form! Reactivation in the old line-up, with Diabolizer behind the drums, is a resurrection like a phoenix from the ashes. The songs are maybe a bit more technical, but still oldschool and even darker. It's still a piece of amazing Death Metal filled with pure devilism. As for Offence, you know what to expect from them. Good, old Death/Thrash that will throw you out of your slippers and all other footwear. It is a pity that this band - despite considerable experience on the scene - is still not widely recognized. In my opinion, they deserve much more attention and recognition.
Putrid Cult did a great job releasing this split. "Hellbound Hearts" is a great introduction to the return of Hell-Born and a reminder / wider promotion of Offence. An extremely successful split that is worth having on the shelf and to which you will get back to. Strongly recommend!
