Niniejszym wyłaniam swoją płytę roku 2020! To, co Azarath zrobił na tym albumie, to dla mnie osobiście coś niesamowitego! Nie tylko w obrębie diabelskiego death metalu, jakim się parają, ale i względem kompozycji i brzmienia, warsztatu muzycznego, jaki wyłania się z tych opętańczych dźwięków. Ta płyta po prostu równa wszystko z ziemią. "Saint Desecration" jawi się nie tylko jako odniesienie do starszych płyt zespołu, ale również jest niesamowitym jakościowym krokiem naprzód. Mam wrażenie, że Panowie nigdy wcześniej nie brzmieli tak potężnie! No i bardzo dobrze robi grupie fakt posiadania Skullrippera na wokalu. Lata w Embrional zrobiły swoje i Marcin wpasował się tu idealnie, zarówno ze swoim głosem, jak i gitarą. Inferno, Bart, a i Peter jak zwykle wymiatają i są w życiowej formie, a zespół pokazuje się ze swojej najlepszej strony. Mnogość różnych smaczków i natchnionych solówek zanurzona jest w miażdżących blastach, tnących niczym polsilver riffach i zajadłych wokalach. Azarath pokazał na tej płycie, że wciąż można grać brutalnie, a jednocześnie z kunsztem i finezją, przemycając w tę formę nieco melodii, tworząc death metal z jednej strony bijący swą piąchą prosto w pysk, a z drugiej otwierający przed słuchaczem swoją głębię i bogactwo. Wisienką na torcie jest zamykający album utwór "Beyond the Gates of Burning Ghats". Takiego numeru w swoim dorobku zespół jeszcze nie miał. Kompleksowy, ze znakomitą linią gitar (a i solówka jest tu przepiękna), mistyczny w swoim wydźwięku i bardzo klimatyczny, pełen atmosfery mroku, tlących się świec i kadzideł. Miejscami trochę behemothowy, ale wciąż zachowujący ten charakterystyczny dla Azarath pazur. Do tej kompozycji powstał również pierwszy w historii Azarath teledysk, który załączam poniżej. Charakter albumu idealnie oddaje ponura i tajemnicza okładka autorstwa Marty Promińskiej, małżonki Inferna. Do limitowanej wersji CD, którą przedstawiam w niniejszej recenzji dodano również cover Merciless "Pure Hate", który zespół zagrał jak swój własny numer - klasa!

I hereby choose my album of the year 2020! What Azarath did on this one is something amazing for me personally! Not only in terms of the devilish death metal they play, but also regarding the composition and sound, and the musical technique that emerges from this demonic music. This record simply smashes everything to the ground. "Saint Desecration" stands out not only as a reference to the band's older albums, but also is an amazing qualitative step forward. I have the impression that the gentlemen have never sounded so powerful before! And it does the group very well to have Skullripper on vocals. The years at Embrional have done their job and Marcin fit in perfectly here, both with his voice and guitar. Inferno, Bart and Peter, as always, are rocking and in their best shape, the band shows its best side. The multitude of different additions and inspired solos are hidden in crushing blasts, riffs cutting like polsilver and fierce vocals. Azarath showed on this album that you can still play brutally, and at the same time with artistry and finesse, smuggle some melody into this form, creating fist-punching death metal on the one hand, and on the other opening its depth and richness to the listener. The icing on the cake is the closing track "Beyond the Gates of Burning Ghats". The band has not had such a track in their output yet. Comprehensive, with an excellent line of guitars (and the solo here is beautiful), mystical in its overtone and very atmospheric, full of darkness, smoldering candles and incense. A bit of a behemoth-like in places, but still retaining that "claw" characteristic for the group. Azarath also made their first music video to this composition, which I am attaching above. The nature of the album is perfectly reflected in the gloomy and mysterious cover by Marta Promińska, Inferno's wife. A cover of Merciless "Pure Hate" was also added to the limited CD version, which I present in this review. The band played it as their own composition - top class!
