Automb - Chaosophy (Witching Hour Productions 2020)

Minęły dwa lata od bardzo dobrego "Esoterica" i już mamy jego następcę. "Chaosophy", bo taki tytuł nosi najnowszy album amerykańskiego tria z Automb, to kolejny krok naprzód w odmęty black metalowej sztuki, połączenia starych wpływów z nowoczesnym brzmieniem, jeszcze większą dawką mroku i klimatu (ta diabelsko-pogańska estetyka jest totalnie w punkt). Death metalowe wpływy coraz bardziej ustępują tu typowo black metalowym, może poza wokalem Danielle. Słychać tu silne wpływy Dissection, Hate, Belphegor czy Behemoth. Album ma potężne brzmienie, jeszcze lepsze niż na pierwszej płycie, albo jest to efekt tego, że same kompozycje mają jeszcze więcej dynamiki i "mięsa na kulę". Stąd taki, a nie inny mój odbiór. Świetne partie gitar, chwytliwe riffy (szacun, Serge!), mocny wokal Danielle, no i Scott Fuller (Morbid Angel) za garami - czy może być lepiej? Widać, że zespół się rozwija, idzie za ciosem i nie spoczywa na laurach. Mamy tu 9 kompozycji i każda jest przynajmniej dobra, a nawet bardzo dobra, to naprawdę wysoki poziom wykonawczy i kompozytorski, a w ramach hybrydy Black/Death to już naprawdę niemal pierwsza liga. "Chaosophy" jest dopracowany, przemyślany i spójny - takiej właśnie płyty można było od zespołu oczekiwać, potwierdzenia konsekwencji i kunsztu. Moim zdaniem wypełnili to zadanie bezbłędnie. Cieszy mnie też fakt, że po raz kolejny płytę Automb wydaje wytwórnia z Polski, tym razem sztafeta została przekazana Witching Hour. Widać, że polscy wydawcy wiedzą, co dobre i potrafią przygarnąć pod swój dach autentycznie zajebiste zespoły, a do takich Automb należy bezapelacyjnie. Bierzcie "Chaosophy" w ciemno!!!

It's been two years since the very good "Esoterica" and we already have its successor. "Chaosophy", because this is the title of the latest album by the American trio from Automb, is another step forward in the depths of Black Metal art, combining old influences with modern sound, an even greater dose of darkness and climate (this devilish-pagan aesthetics are totally to the point). Death metal influences are intensively disappearing in favour of black metal ones, maybe apart from Danielle's vocals. Strong influences of Dissection, Hate, Belphegor and Behemoth are heard here. The album has a powerful sound, even better than the first, or it is the effect that the compositions themselves have even more dynamics and are more meaty. That is why I grade it like that. Great guitar parts, catchy riffs (respect, Serge!), strong vocals by Danielle, and Scott Fuller (Morbid Angel) behind drums - could it all be better? You can see that the band is developing, gaining their momentum and striking with full force. We have 9 compositions here and each is at least good, even very good, it's a really high level of performance and composition, and under the Black/Death hybrid it's really almost the first league. "Chaosophy" is refined, well-thought-out and coherent - such an album could be expected from the band, confirmation of consistency and craftsmanship. In my opinion they fulfilled this task flawlessly. I am also pleased that once again the Automb record is released by a Polish label, this time the baton was handed over to Witching Hour. You can see that Polish publishers know what is good and can take genuinely awesome bands under their roof, and Automb belongs to them without a doubt. Grab "Chaosophy" without hesitation!!!
